  3. Seed Stage Capital Formation in RTP:  Bridging the Gap.

  4. Parrish (Parry) Ketchmark, Chairman & CEO of Parrish Brian Partners, Inc.

  5. Andrew (Andy) Schwab, Entrepreneur in Residence, First Flight Venture Center

  6. There is an enormous opportunity in RTP to advance entrepreneurial initiatives aimed at unleashing new ideas, methods and technologies. Identifying and securing funding to advance these initiatives remains a constant need and is a significant challenge.  The presenters believe there are opportunities to improve the funding infrastructure and increase the potential sources of funding outlets for seed and mid-stage enterprises. The speakers have set out to do just this by developing a new Angel Investor concept. They will share their vision for this initiative and a perspective on how Innovalyst and ICANTM can become actively engaged to help ensure the progress and success of this new concept.

  7. Parry Ketchmark founded Parrish Brian Partners, Inc. (“Partner’s”), a seed stage investment firm, in 1997. Partner’s combines business development acumen, its capital, and the capital of its angel investors to foster the development and growth of start-up technology and execution-driven businesses. Their current portfolio consists of both actively managed companies and passive investments in both public and private equity. Ketchmark started his career in 1989 as a corporate finance executive, where he worked on Wall Street in investment banking and later in financial public relations. In 1992, he decided to focus entirely on early stage and start-up businesses. Ketchmark’s entrepreneurial background, experience, and contribution is focused on the planning and execution of start-up businesses.  His core competencies include corporate finance (particularly capital structure), valuation and M&A, sales and marketing (including industry and target market analysis), and comprehensive due diligence.

  8. Andy Schwab is a successful information technology entrepreneur with over 25 years experience starting and building early stage companies. He led two local companies to Triangle Fast 50 awards over the last decade. Andy is an experienced, self motivated senior executive with proven management skills covering all phases of technology development and commercialization. His diverse background includes extensive knowledge of the Internet, SaaS, virtualization, information security, enterprise systems, e-business startup and expansion, and emerging technology evaluation and integration with existing business models and processes.
